Ok im officially bummed :( why does this ALWAYS happen?!?!?!?

ok so i just now started dating this AWESOME guy!! hes uber nice nd funny nd all tht good stuff, when this guy who is like mii BEST friend just randomly tells me that he has this huge crush on me. so i was like umm you and ur gf just broke up so ima just let that go and kno tht its not true but its been like three days nd he still insists tht he relly cares about me, and i dont want to hurt him cuz hes already been hurt so much and had to go thru a TON (ie. his parents died and he had to move away from where he had lived all his life out to the middle of nowhere) and i relly do love him, but im not sure if its as just a friend or as mor than a friend. Not to mention that i dont want to hurt mii current boyfriend in any way shape or form!!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!
