How to fix my glasses?? Help!?

In middle school I had to wear glasses for reading and stuff, but I didn't have a case and they broke while they was in my book bag. Not the lens, but the things attached to the end of the lens that hooks on your ears...not sure what they're called. Well, I found my glasses just not those things. Is there a way I could possibly tie a string or something on the ends (ex. to where it fits around my head, maybe under my hair somehow) so I can wear my glasses until I can get them fixed properly?
